Amount of Pollutants Emitted into Atmosphere Decreased
Baku / 27.03.19 / Turan: In 2018, the volume of pollutants emitted from stationary sources and vehicles into the atmosphere decreased compared to the previous year by 37.9 thousand tons and amounted to 1 million 122.6 thousand tons. This is reported by the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan.
The share of motor vehicles accounts for 84.6% or 950.2 thousand tons of pollutant emissions to the atmosphere. At the same time, the volume of harmful substances emitted from stationary sources for the year decreased by 6.4%, and the volume of those emitted from cars decreased by 2.7%.
As a result of preventive measures, 57.9% of harmful substances emitted from stationary sources were retained and neutralized by the treatment facilities.
Of all the harmful emissions to the atmosphere, hydrocarbons accounted for 66.7%, nitrogen oxides - 12.1%, carbon oxides - 9.7%, sulfur dioxide - 0.4%, etc. --0--
