Corporate Securities Exchange Turnover Falls Fivefold
In January-November 2016 the turnover of corporate securities (shares and bonds) amounted to 396 million manat, which is 1 billion 652 million manat or 5 times less than in the comparable period of 2015, according to BSE.
The volume of outstanding shares for the 11 months amounted to 114.6 million AZN, 57% less than last year. The acquisition of shares was attended by 16 investors, while last year shares worth 266.7 million manat went to 111 investors.
In the secondary market 1.9 thousand small transactions worth a total of about 3 million manat were concluded. Activity in the secondary stock market fell by 41%, and turnover - three times.
From the beginning of the year, the company has placed bonds worth a total of 168.9 million manat, 8.5 times more than for 11 months of last year. At the same time, investors showed less activity in the secondary market for corporate bonds. Secondary turnover of corporate bonds amounted to 82.8 million manat, which is 2.8 times less than in the comparable period of 2015. --------------08D
