Armenians Cross Border as Azerbaijan-Armenia Civil Society Talks Resume

The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the “Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity” (TRIPP) project, despite criticism from Russia and reports suggesting a possible suspension of the initiative.

President Ilham Aliyev on April 9 approved amendments to the laws “On Approval of the Regulation on Military Service” and “On Military Duty and Military Service,” adopted by the Milli Majlis on March 17.

Armenia will continue to pursue the transport project TRIPP despite criticism from Moscow, as the government signals its commitment to a pro-Western policy course ahead of parliamentary elections.

Azerbaijan earned an estimated $360 million to $540 million in additional oil export revenue during the recent escalation involving Iran, the United States and Israel, but the windfall is unlikely to significantly alter the country’s 2026 fiscal trajectory, according to calculations based on export volumes and price dynamics¹.
