On April 27, the media agenda reflected Azerbaijan’s active foreign policy engagement. The country was visited by the president and prime minister of Ukraine and the Czech Republic.

The media agenda during the reviewed period focuses on state measures for social protection, in particular the allocation by the President of Azerbaijan of 3 million manats for one-time payments to veterans of the Second World War and equivalent categories.

The media agenda during the reviewed period reflects contradictory processes in the country’s economy. On the one hand, the country’s external debt has decreased to 6.1% of GDP; on the other hand, the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan is recording its largest deficit in years, while non-performing loans are rising.

One of the key topics in the media agenda during the period under review was the official visit to Azerbaijan by Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs.
