Ex-minister's brother arrested
Baku/17.04.21/Turan: The founder of the STS company and Sahil-D Companu LLC Ibrahimov Sahib Huseyn oglu, previously convicted of fraud, was again arrested on charges of committing a similar crime.
As reported by the press service of the General Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan, as a result of operational and investigative measures carried out by the Main Directorate for Combating Corruption, it was established that Sahib Ibrahimov, promising to provide non-residential premises in residential buildings under construction, deceived citizens by forgery in documents and appropriated in this way 1 million 735 thousand manats.
In addition, Sahib Ibrahimov, under the guise of paying the costs of construction work, appropriated bank funds in the amount of 300,000 manats and spent them on personal needs.
On April 17, 2021, Sahib Ibrahimov was charged under Articles 178.3.2 (fraud with causing major damage), 308.2 (abuse of office, which entailed grave consequences), 313 (official forgery) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. By a court decision, a preventive measure was chosen in the form of arrest.
Sahib Ibragimov was previously involved in fraud charges in 2018. However, some time after being taken into custody, he was released under house arrest, and later received only 1 year of probation.
Note that Sahib Ibragimov is the brother of ex-head of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibragimov and businessman Haji Ibrahim Nehramli. — 21D06
