Ilham Aliyev sends a letter of support to Erdogan
On 16 July at 15:00 pm 15 hours after the attempted coup d'etat in Turkey, the site of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev posted in Azerbaijani and Russian languages a letter of support to Recep Tayyip Erdogan. "With great concern and regret I watched the events in Turkey last night, the events associated with the coup attempt. This is a monstrous crime, on the one hand, against the state of Turkey, on the other - against the Turkish people's will and choice.
The Azerbaijani people and the state which is are always close to the Turkish people and the Turkish state, strongly condemns, and considers unacceptable a crime against the Constitution and the democracy in Turkey. I am sure that in the result of decisive measures to prevent the coup attempt, the unity of the people and government of Turkey, the situation in the brotherly country will stabilized in a short time.
