Musavat Deputy Chairman Called to Police
Baku / 07.11.19 / Turan: The newly appointed deputy head of the Musavat party, Azer Ismail, was summoned to the Sabirabad district police department the day before. This was reported to Turan by Ismail himself.
According to the opposition, he was received by the head of the criminal investigation department, who questioned him about planned opposition rallies.
“He asked when the next opposition rally will take place. I told him he would find this out from the press. After that they let me go,” Ismail said.
Our attempt to get comments in the Sabirabad district police department failed.
A Musavat rally was planned for November 10. However, the Baku Executive Power proposed that the party hold the action in the village of Lokbatan. Musavat found this proposal unacceptable and announced that it would hold the rally on November 12 in front of the Executive in protest against the violation of freedom of assembly. —06D--
