Trial of Robert Kocharyan Transferred to Constitutional Court
Baku / 21.05.19 / Turan: The trial of the case against the ex-President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan in the Yerevan Court is suspended and the case is transferred to the Constitutional Court, Radio Liberty reported.
Judge David Grigoryan asks the Constitutional Court to verify the constitutionality of Article 300.1 of the Criminal Code on overthrowing the constitutional order.
On Saturday, the same judge changed the measure of restraint to Robert Kocharyan, freeing him from arrest, which caused outrage of the executive power and Prime Minister Pashinyan called for blocking the work of the courts, and then called for reform of the judicial system within 1-2 months. -02D-
