Court of Appeal dismisses Ikram Rahimov�s complaint
Baku/28.12.18/Turan: Today the Baku Court of Appeal considered the complaint of the editor-in-chief of the realliq.info website, IkramRahimov about the extension of his arrest for 2 months and 28 days.
Rahimov's relatives reported, he stated that there was no basis for extending the term of detention.
Rahimov noted that he had previously been prosecuted, but always promptly came to the investigation and the subpoena court.
At the same time, he pointed out the groundlessness of his content in the jail of the investigating body - the State Security Council (SSC).
However, the court dismissed the complaint.
Rahimov intends to appeal to the European Court of Human Rights.
On October 26, IkramRahimov was detained by the SSC officers, then his arrest was authorized. Before his arrest, Rahimov said that he was being followed up, the reason for which is his criticism of the address of presidential assistant Ali Hasanov. He was accused of repeated extortion by threats by prior agreement by a group of individuals (182.2.1 and 1822.2).
On December 20, the court extended the term of the arrest for another 2 months 28 days.
In 2016 IkramRahimov in 2016 was imprisoned for one year for slander, but was released ahead of time.-- 0--

On January 29, municipal elections were held in Azerbaijan, with over 16,000 candidates participating across 118 constituencies. The Central Election Commission (CEC) has already announced the names of the leading candidates on its website.
