Evaluation of the Accounts Chamber, a look at the socio-economic results of the first quarter of this year, and discussion of the school uniform are the leading topics of today's media.
The Azerbaijan newspaper presents an assessment of the activities of the Accounts Chamber, which is provided by its chairman, Vugar Gulmammadov. Last year, according to 53 audit results, 714 deficiencies were identified.
When checking various structures, violations of budget legislation, accounting and so on were revealed. There were shortcomings in public procurement.
The Yeni Musavat newspaper discusses the socio-economic results of the first quarter of 2019 with the expert Rashad Hasanov. The expert calls this period fruitful from the point of view of the decisions taken in the social and economic spheres and the ongoing reforms.
At the same time, in the first three months of this year there was a jump in prices. Nevertheless, the growth rate for the first quarter in comparison with the same period of the last three years can be called dynamic.
At the same time, the expert says, in Azerbaijan there are no serious changes in the pace of economic growth. There are serious problems with the business environment. This is the result of the absence of a real transformation of reforms into the economy.
The website Azedu.az discusses the school uniform. This issue was reflected in the draft law "On General Education", which was discussed at the plenary session of the Milli Majlis. Some experts argue that a single form is a violation of the right of the parents and students to choose. Students should be given freedom. The uniform itself is important because it makes the difference between being at home and outside it and eliminates the social difference between schoolchildren.
