Baku / 17.08.17 / Turan: Nasimi district court of Baku today made a decision to extend the term of the arrest of deputy chairman of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan Party (PFPA) Geyzal Bayramli for another two months. The defense considers this decision unreasonable and intends to appeal against it.
** Bayramli was detained on May 25 on his return from Georgia. She was accused of smuggling, in particular, an attempt to import undeclared 12 thousand dollars. Against her, a criminal case on smuggling was opened. On the night of May 27, the court ruled on her arrest. Bayramly herself rejected the charges and called them politically motivated. -05B06-

On January 29, municipal elections were held in Azerbaijan, with over 16,000 candidates participating across 118 constituencies. The Central Election Commission (CEC) has already announced the names of the leading candidates on its website.
