Trial in the case of Bayram Mammadov
The trial in the case of the activist of NIDA Bayram Mamedov in the Baku Serious Crimes Court was passed into production of the judge Eldar Mikailova. The preparatory hearing in the case is scheduled for 1 November, told the lawyer Elchin Sadigov.
Giyas Ibrahimov and Bayram Mammadov are accused of large scale drug trafficking. However, according to them, the true reason for their arrest is graffiti on the monument to Heydar Aliyev: "Congratulations on the slaves!" and "Down with the system!" The case against Ibrahimov is already on trial. The prosecutor offered to sentence him to nine years in prison. Amnesty International recognized the young people as "prisoners of conscience". -16B06-
