Parviz Shahbazov Meets with Russian Energy Minister
Baku / 19.02.18 / Turan: Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov met with his Russian counterpart Alexander Novak in Moscow. The meeting discussed issues of current and significant issues in the energy sector, new processes in the global energy market, and regional cooperation. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
The parties also discussed the issue of the construction of the second interstate HEVX Yashma-Derbent, which plays an important role in increasing the exchange in the energy supply system between Russia and Azerbaijan and in the creation of the North-South Energy Corridor. An agreement was reached to hold a meeting of the Working Group in the near future. In addition, attention was paid to the comprehensive study of the hydropower resources of the Samur River and the prospects for the construction of a hydroelectric power station.
Both sides, expressing their interest in creating the energy ring Russia-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Russia, stressed the need for a trilateral meeting.
At the meeting, attention was paid to successful cooperation in the oil and gas sector represented by Lukoil, Gazprom and Rosneft. It was talked about the results of cooperation within the framework of OPEC. -03D-
