France in favour of international negotiation mechanism between Baku and Karabakh
Baku/28.04.23/Turan: "We want negotiations to start between the representatives of Nagorno-Karabakh and the Azerbaijani authorities with the support of the international community on the content of the rights and guarantees of the population. It means that there should be favourable conditions for such negotiations, including the restoration of free movement through the Lachin corridor. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna, who is in Armenia, in an interview with "Armenpress".
"France will support any solution that will ensure that the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh can continue to live there in safety, preserving its history, heritage and culture. This is their inviolable right," she continued.
Colonna also reiterated Paris' view that Baku must ensure unimpeded movement through the Lachin corridor and the International Court of Justice's decision to do so is binding.
Today, the French Foreign Minister, accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, arrived in the city of Jermuk, to the sites of the September 2022 battles.
Colonna also familiarised herself with the activities of the EU Observer Mission along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. -02D-
