Series of Terrorist Attacks in Tehran
Baku / 07.06.17 / Turan: Unknown people attacked government facilities in the Iranian capital on Wednesday morning.
Thus, an attack was carried out on the Iranian parliament and the Imam Khomeini Mausoleum. As a result of the attack, there are dead and wounded.
As reported by Fars, a man opened fire at the entrance to the parliament building in Tehran. According to Deputy Elaz Hazrati, the attackers were three or four, armed with Kalashnikov rifles and pistols.
As a result of the attack, eight people were injured, among them soldiers of the Revolutionary Guards and civilians who came to parliament to meet with deputies from their region. One of the soldiers, according to unofficial information, was killed.
The fate of the terrorists is still unknown. The agency Tasnim claims that one or two militants managed to barricade themselves in the office on one of the upper floors of the building, where they took four hostages and opened fire from the window. According to unconfirmed information, in one of the premises of the parliament they killed seven people.
The second attack occurred simultaneously in the Imam Khomeini Mausoleum, where three criminals opened fire indiscriminately on visitors, and one terrorist (there is evidence that it was a woman) blew herself up. According to unofficial data, as a result of the attack, one person was killed and five were injured. The agency Tasnim claims that the police arrested a woman who participated in the attack. One terrorist could not be taken alive because he had swallowed a capsule with cyanide. Another bandit was killed during the shootout. Also, an unexploded Shahid Belt was seized at the scene of the incident.
In connection with the incident in Tehran, an emergency meeting of the National Security Council was convened.
FARS claims that the terrorist group Islamic State took responsibility for both attacks. -02D-
