Azerbaijani Customs Officers Prevented Transit of Almost One Ton of Heroin
Baku / 01.12.19 / Turan: Azerbaijani customs officers prevented the transit of a large batch of drugs through the country's territory. 933.115 kg of heroin was found in a trailer of a Volvo truck owned by the Iranian company Ensıye Izadkhah By Order Navıd Khan Mohammadı Commercıal, which was driven by an Azerbaijani citizen Ramiz Huseynov, the press service of the State Customs Committee said.
The forbidden cargo was intended for delivery to Ukraine - the company Bayramlar Ltd. The heroin was packed in 1,884 rectangular boxes and hidden in packets of fruit, the press release said.
This is the largest drug consignment ever detained by Azerbaijani customs.
Four days ago, Azerbaijani customs officers discovered and seized 304.154 kg of heroin in a truck, which also was going on transit through Azerbaijan from Iran to Ukraine. —06B-
