New head of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's press service
Baku/20.10.22/Turan: Aykhan Hajizadeh has been appointed a new head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the Ministry said in an October 20 report.
Note that Hajizadeh was born in 1981 and graduated from International Relations and International Law Department of Baku State University. He has a master's degree from the National Defense University of the United States.
He has been in the diplomatic service since 2007. In 2010-2014, he worked at the Azerbaijani Embassy in Austria at the permanent mission of Azerbaijan to the UN structures in Vienna.
From 2017-2022, he served as the first secretary and advisor at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Washington, DC.
Since July 2022, he has been deputy head of the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan.
Hajizadeh replaced Leyla Abdullayeva, who was appointed Azerbaijani Ambassador to France, as head of the press service. -03В06-

On the evening of February 5, it was reported that journalist Shahnaz Beylargizi had been arrested. She had been a presenter on the Toplum TV channel for several years. After a criminal case was initiated against the channel in March 2024 and nearly all of its staff were arrested, Beylargizi was questioned multiple times. According to relatives, the police conducted a search of her apartment.
