The opposition decided to hold a Sunday protest in front of the CEC
Baku/15.02.20/Turan: The opposition rally on Sunday will be held in front of the CEC from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The head of the Republican Alternative Party (REAL) Ilgar Mammadov wrote about this on his facebook page.
He noted that there was nothing reprehensible in holding the rally at the stadium in Lokbatan, where the authorities proposed.
“Perhaps, in other circumstances, we would do it. However, on February 16, we will hold an action in front of the CEC. The executive branch of Baku several times, grossly violated our right to freedom of assembly. Despite the fact that we offered seven places, they rejected all these options. Therefore, in the manner prescribed by law, we will hold a peaceful, democratic, constitutional rally on February 16 from 15:00 to 16:00 before the CEC,” Mammadov wrote.
He noted that a notification was sent to the city administration.
This information was also confirmed by the deputy chair of Musavat Faraj Kermley.
The parties REAL, Musavat, D18 Movement and independent candidates Farhad Mehdiyev and Gunel Safarli on February 11 appealed to the city hall with a notice on holding a rally on February 16 in the square in front of May 28 metro stations in protest against election fraud.
However, the authorities proposed to hold a rally in Lokbatan.
On February 13, the organizers sent a second appeal. However, this time, the city hall, Lokbatan suggested.
On February 14, the organizers were summoned to the metropolitan police department and warned that the rally in any other place would be stopped. –0ВВ-
