Washington may stop financial assistance to Karabakh Armenians
Baku/07.31.19/Turan: Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) reported the plans of the US government for two months to suspend financial assistance provided to Nagorno-Karabakh, allocated by Congress.
Armenian media cite the words of the Director of the Armenian Center for American Researches, Suren Sargsyan, who said that the US government is planning reduce assistance to Karabakh allocated for demining territories.
"This is a program funded by USAID (US Agency for International Development - Ed.), and its termination carries a serious political message and entails the most serious political consequences. It will become political and legal precedent, the consequences of which we all know," he said.
The USA is the only country after Armenia which, without recognizing independence Karabakh, provides it direct financial assistance. -02D-

Elvin Zeynalov, a religious activist living in the village of Mashtaga, was detained on January 31 around noon by individuals in plain clothes outside a store near his home.
