Brother-in-law of Political Emigrant Arrested
Baku / 16.02.18 / Turan: The brother-in-law (husband of the sister) of the young blogger Muhammad Mirzali, who is in political emigration in France, has been arrested. An IDP from Lachin Elman Agayev was arrested by a court for 30 days on February 13, the human rights activist Ogtay Gulaliyev said.
Agayev was taken from his job and also accused of not subordinating the police in the street. He is kept in the Binagadi detention center and does not have a lawyer.
Gulaliyev together with another human rights activist Taleh Khasmammadov visited the family of Muhammad Mirzali in the Goychay region on February 15.
As Gulaliyev noted, members of the Mirzali family have been under pressure recently. The blogger"s father and brother-in-law had previously been detained and the police demanded from them that Muhammad stopped anti-government statements on the Internet and did not participate in actions in support of human rights abroad. -06B--
