Classes in educational establishments postponed until March 27
Baku / 03.03.20 / Turan: As part of measures to prevent the threat of the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), the suspension of the activities of educational institutions in Azerbaijan has been extended until March 20, press service of the Cabinet published on March 7.
Because of the non-working days on the spring holiday of Novruz Bayram, classes will resume on March 27. This decision applies to all types of educational institutions - pre-school, secondary, specialized secondary, vocational and higher. Previously, classes were canceled from March 4 to 9, inclusive. Children's festivities on the occasion of Novruz Bayram are also being canceled in the country.
In addition, the government until June 1 canceled import duties on the import of medical supplies used in the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. In particular, the exemption applies to the import of shoe covers, sterile and non-sterile gloves, medical masks (for surgical operations and medical procedures) and respirators.
This step is aimed at providing the population and medical facilities with the indicated things at affordable prices and creating their stocks. –06D-
