Four cases are sent to court on the Ganja events - the Prosecutor General
Baku / 04.01.18 / Turan: In connection with the assassination attempt on the life of former head of Ganja, Elmar Veliyev, 18 people were brought to criminal responsibility, another 11 were wanted, said the Prosecutor General, Zakir Garalov, at the operational meeting on the results of 2018 on Friday.
According to him, on July 3, 2018 the "radical believer" Yunis Safarov carried out a planned terrorist attack against the head of the Ganja Executive Power and a police officer.
In connection with this criminal case on charges of attempting to change the constitutional order, terrorism, 18 persons are brought to justice - members of an organized criminal group; and 11 more are on the international wanted list.
Intensive operational and investigative measures are continuing to identify others involved in criminal acts in this case, Garalov said.
In addition, 59 people who organized unrest "in defense of" Safarov in Ganja were brought to justice.
Within the framework of this criminal case, materials in relation to 36 people (4 cases) have already been transferred to the Ganja Serious Crimes Court.
The investigation with respect to the others is ongoing. -06D--
