Georgian customs detained Azerbaijani citizen with 40 kg of gold and silver
Baku/25.03.18/Turan: An Azerbaijani citizen was detained on the Turkish-Georgian border while trying to carry 40 kg of gold and silver, reported the newsgeorgia.ge website with reference to the Deputy Chief of the Investigation Service of the Georgian Finance Ministry, Vadji Navrozashvili.
Vaya Naurozashvili said on March 23 at a briefing that the Azerbaijani citizen tried to smuggle 36 kg of gold from Turkey, amounting US$ 821.200 and 4 kg of silver amounting 8000 dollars from Turkey, and was detained at the Sarpi customs point in Georgia.
A lawsuit has been filed. The detainee, whose name is not called, faces 5-7 years in prison. -0--
