Baku / 21.05.19 / Turan: Last night, heavy rains continued in most of the country, accompanied by strong wind and hail. On the mountain slopes of Kishchay River (north-west of the country) rains caused mudflows.
Most of the precipitation fell in Oguz (44 mm - 41% of the monthly norm), Sheki (40 mm - 39%), Zagatala (33 mm - 26%), and Ismayilli (22 mm - 34%).
The speed of the south-west wind in Ganja was 34 meters per second, in Ismayilli - 32 m / s, in Dashkesan - 30 m / s, and in Agsu - 27 m / s.
In the Sheki district there was hail with a diameter of 34 mm. Major hail also fell in the Terter and Zagatala districts.
Such unstable weather with intense precipitation will continue in the next day, according to weather forecasters of the Ministry of Environment. -02D-

On January 29, municipal elections were held in Azerbaijan, with over 16,000 candidates participating across 118 constituencies. The Central Election Commission (CEC) has already announced the names of the leading candidates on its website. Hours after the election, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov stated at a briefing that 413 out of 685 municipalities had already been formed, with 7,791 candidates identified as leaders. According to him, elections proceeded normally in all constituencies, and no complaints were received by his office. The arrest was first reported by Kommersant and Izvestia, citing sources, and later corroborated by law enforcement contacts through RIA Novosti and TASS.
