Hunger strike of religious activists in Gobustan prison
Baku / 04.02.19 / Turan: Head of the Muslim Unity Movement ThaleBagirzade and activist of this movement Abbas Huseyn (Huseynov) are on a hunger strike in Gobustan prison, reported ZumrudYagmur, a member of the Center for Political Prisoners, the wife of the PFPA Deputy Chairman Fuad Gahramanly, referring to the Abbas Huseyn family.
"Abbas Huseyn isin Gobustan. He has been on a hunger strike there for two days, and TalehBagirzadefor five days. Pressure and torture continues. Relatives reported that even when Abbas reported this by telephone, he was pressured, they took the phone and did not allow him to speak further," said Yagmur.
According to her, Bagirzade was deprived of the opportunity to talk on the phone, the right to take a bath.
The convicts say that the prison director Aftandil Agayevis personally supervises tortures.
Earlier, Bagirzade appealed to local and international organizations, activists of social networks, the National Council of Democratic Forces not to remain indifferent to repression against those convicted in the Gobustan prison.
Bagirzade and Huseyn were arrested in November 2016 during a special operation in Nardaran, and sentenced to 20 years in prison each on charges of terrorism and other serious crimes.
