"If I am released, I will continue to fight corruption" M.Huseynov
Baku / 07.08.18 / Turan: "My mother's death will not break me, after release from prison I will continue anti-corruption investigations," said Mehman Huseynov, the condemned blogger, at a funeral ceremony today. "If I leave the jail alive, then I will be more active. We will not leave our path," he said.
The brother of the blogger, who is in political emigration, the executive director of the Institute for Freedom and Safety of Reporters (IRFS) Emin Huseynov addressed the participants of the ceremony via WhatsApp.
"Mom, forgive me and my brother, that in the last hours of your life we were not near you. The time will come, we will win in the struggle for the ideals of freedom, which you also supported," Huseynov said.
The oppositiojn members who spoke at the ceremony condemned the authorities for not allowing Mehman Huseynov to see his mother when her health was very serious.
"Time will come when everyone will answer for their deeds. You can not avenge the families of political prisoners," said Isa Gambar, head of the Center for National Strategic Thought. The leader of the Popular Front Party Ali Kerimli called political revenge that Mehman Huseynov was banned to say goodbye to his dying mother.
"Mehman is avenged for exposing the crimes of the corruption regime," A. Kerimli said. Such behavior of the authorities is caused only by hatred. "The presence of so many people today is evidence of this growing hatred," Kerimli said. -06D--
