This was reported by the company Saipem, which rented the vessel.
"Saipem reports with regret that this morning in the hospital in France, one of the victims, who was in the most serious condition, passed away," the report said.
There is no threat to the lives of the others affected.
The report notes that 11 victims who are citizens of different countries, on May 11 were taken to specialized hospitals in Turkey, Italy, France and the UK. Another three who received light injuries, independently reached their countries.
The fire on the Israfil Huseynov ship leased by Saipem to work at the Azerbaijani Shah Deniz gas condensate field in the Caspian Sea occurred on May 8 in the evening as a result of equipment problems in the pipe-laying zone. During the fire, accompanied by an explosion, 14 people received burns of varying severity. All of them were taken ashore and hospitalized initially to the Central Hospital of Oilmen in Baku. The condition of three of them was assessed by doctors as critical. -06D--
