The average temperature in Azerbaijan in January will be close to the climate norm. Rainfall is also expected within the normal range, according to weather forecasters. In Baku and Absheron the average temperature will be + 3 + 5 degrees. On some days, it is expected -3-8 degrees below zero at night. The amount of monthly precipitation will be in excess of 18-28 mm in some places. The average monthly temperature in Nakhchivan from 2 degrees below zero up to a +1 degree. On some days, at nights will be -13 -18 degrees Celsius. In the mountains of the Lesser Caucasus average temperature will be -1-3 degrees Celsius (some days at night will be -12-17 degrees Celsius). In the mountains of the Greater Caucasus the average temperature will be -2 +2. On some days, night frosts - 8-13, and in the highlands to - 18-23 degrees below zero. Rainfall will be within -22-49 mm higher in some places.
In the Central Lowlands region average temperature will be +3 +5 degrees (on some days at night will be - 5-10 degrees below zero.) In the Southern region, the average temperature will be + 1 + 5 degrees (on some days - 3-8 degrees Celsius, and in the mountains to - 12-17 degrees Celsius.) Rainfall will be 63-98 mm. -02D-

On January 29, municipal elections were held in Azerbaijan, with over 16,000 candidates participating across 118 constituencies. The Central Election Commission (CEC) has already announced the names of the leading candidates on its website. Hours after the election, CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov stated at a briefing that 413 out of 685 municipalities had already been formed, with 7,791 candidates identified as leaders. According to him, elections proceeded normally in all constituencies, and no complaints were received by his office. However, independent candidates and experts claim that there were violations during the election process.
