Trial on the suit of the website Gununsesi.info against the Ministry of Communications
Baku/23.01.20/Turan: On January 23, the Baku Administrative Court, chaired by Mehriban Garayeva, began considering the claim of the Gununsesi.info website against the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies. In July 2018, after the Ganja events, the Prosecutor General’s Office appealed to the Ministry of Communications with a call to restrict access to the sites: “bastainfo.com”, “criminalaz.com”, “topxeber.az”, “fia.az”, “gununsesi.info” and “teref .info.
The head of the “Gununsesi.info” website Parviz Gashimli told Turan that his site was blocked without a court order. He also said that in 2018 he received a letter signed by Deputy Minister Elmira Velizade that this agency did not block the site “Gununsesi.info.
“However, at today's trial, the representative of the Ministry of Communications stated that the site was blocked on the basis of a letter from Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov dated July 13, 2018 addressed to the Minister of Communications Ramin Guluzade,” Gashimli said.
Another serious violation of the law was the restriction by the Azertelekom provider of access to the Gununsesi website through the org domain.
The representative of the Ministry of Communications stated that the provider was not related to them, however, the court granted the request to investigate the reasons for restricting access to the Gununsesi website through the “org” domain and postponed the hearing indefinitely. –03D06-
