Azerbaijani Writer Reaches Final of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Literature Prize 2026

On Friday, marking the 81st anniversary of the victory over fascism, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva laid a wreath at the monument to twice Hero of the Soviet Union Major General Hazi Aslanov in Baku’s Highland Park near the Alley of Martyrs.

Proceedings have concluded at the Sabunchu District Court in the criminal case against Ali Abulhasanli, accused of stealing from the summer house of Etibar Mammadov, founder of the Azerbaijan National Independence Party, located in Bilgah.

Azerbaijan has expanded its anti-terrorism legislation to cover artificial intelligence-based sabotage, cyberattacks on critical infrastructure and the activities of terrorist organisations, according to amendments adopted by parliament on April 27.

Authorities and business circles in Belarus and Azerbaijan are stepping up cooperation in electronic exchange trading and logistics as bilateral trade continues to grow and both countries seek to adapt to shifting economic routes across Eurasia.
