Azerbaijani Presidential Aide Hikmet Hajiyev, who is on a visit to Iran, was received by President Masoud Pezeshkian on February 2.

"During the meeting, Hikmet Hajiyev conveyed to the Iranian President an invitation from President Ilham Aliyev to visit Azerbaijan," the Azerbaijani Embassy in Iran said in a statement on the X social network.

During his visit to Iran on February 1-2, Hajiyev met with a number of Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, presidential adviser Mehdi Sanaei, Secretary General of the Security Council Aliakbar Ahmedian, and Chairman of the Strategic Council on Foreign Affairs Kamal Kharrazi.

As Hajiyev wrote on the X social network, issues of bilateral relations, regional cooperation, including in the 3+3 format, interaction in regional and international organizations, as well as the implementation of the North-South and Aghbend-Nakhchivan transport projects were discussed during the meetings.
