министр обороны Армении Давид Тоноян
Is Armenia preparing to attack?
Baku / 02.26.19 / Turan: Armenia is changing the philosophy of building an army, moving from defense to offensive strategy. The Minister of Defense David Tonoyan stated this on the air of the Public TV of Armenia.
According to him, the Armenian army is changing its defense strategy with new weapons. In particular, the Su-30SM aircraft and the new military loan of $ 100 million.
Responding to criticism that this is an expensive deal, Tonoyan said that with the help of the Su-30SM, it is possible to attack enemy positions at a distance of hundreds of kilometers and protect the lives of hundreds of soldiers.
According to him, Armenia cannot compete with Azerbaijan in quantitative, demographic and economic terms. Therefore, will acquire such weapons that will neutralize the enemy.
In addition, Armenia is moving to an offensive strategy.
"Times and conditions are changing, the army must meet the challenges of the present time and overcome them. Therefore, we must take this step, because, as they say, the defending army is always defeated at the end," he concluded.
When the presenter asked if Armenia was going to attack, Tonoyan replied: "And why not?"
For the new Russian loan, which will amount to another $ 100 million, Armenia will acquire such weapons, which will make it possible to successfully solve problems without entering into an arms race. Types of weapons, according to the minister, are kept secret. -02D-
