Baku / 28.02.20 / Turan: On February 27, the Japanese Embassy in Azerbaijan held a gala reception on the occasion of the national holiday of the country of the Rising Sun - the Birthday of Emperor Naruhito. His birthday, February 23rd, is celebrated as the Emperor’s Birthday.
Japanese Ambassador Katori Teruyuki, speaking at the event, touched the upcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo, noting that Azerbaijan will perform at these Games with a record number of athletes.
Speaking on behalf of the Government of Azerbaijan, Minister of Ecology Mukhtar Babayev noted the high level of bilateral relations, which creates favorable conditions for the development of cooperation in all areas. Journalist Nargiz Abaslamova, held in Baku's Detention Center No. 1, was subjected to violence by a guard. While passing by the cell of her colleague Sevinj Vagifgizi, Abaslamova tried to greet her, reported on Abzas Media's Facebook page. However, guard Aygul Babaeva forcibly dragged Abaslamova away and deeply scratched the journalist's arm. Abaslamova stated that this is not the first time the mentioned guard has used force and been rude to journalists. A few days ago, Babaeva also used force against Sevinj Vagifgizi.
