Peacekeepers leave for Afghanistan
Baku / 10.07.18 / Turan: A group of peacekeepers of Azerbaijan went to Afghanistan in rotation as part of the NATO mission "Strong support," the Defense Ministry said.Currently, the mission of Azerbaijan "Strong Support" includes 120 soldiers, 2 military doctors, 6 staff officers.The peacekeeping mission of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces has been functioning since November 20, 2002. The NATO mission "Strong Support" has been implemented since January 2015. Until 2018, the number of Azerbaijani soldiers in Afghanistan was 94, from 2018 their number increased to 120 people.President IlhamAliyev said at the NATO meeting in Brussels on November 23, 2017 about the increase in the number of the Azerbaijani military in Afghanistan. According to lawyer Zibeida Sadigova, Ibrahim was taken to court in handcuffs. There were guards sitting next to him throughout the whole process.
