The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) recognized the violation of property rights for 14 applicants from Azerbaijan

On February 4, the ECHR announced two rulings regarding complaints filed by these applicants, as reported by the legal information website aihmaz.org. The applicants contested the violation of their property rights during the demolition of their homes for the construction of the "Winter Park" in central Baku, as well as the failure to provide fair compensation. They also requested that the Strasbourg court recognize violations of their rights to a fair trial, respect for private life, effective legal remedies, the right to submit an individual complaint, and other related rights.

The ECHR found that the property rights of T. Salamova, Tamilla Mamedova, Nadezhda Sandler, Zohra Hajiyeva, Reyhan Huseynova, Zaman Mahmudov, Agali Khudaev, Alla Fatalieva, Ilgar Novruzov, Bashkakhnim Abbasova, Shahbeyim Huseynova, Ikram Mirzoev, Fira Ilkhanaeva, and Gunel Ismihanova had been violated.

At the same time, the ECHR noted that it was not yet ready to make a decision on compensation. The Azerbaijani government has been instructed to submit proposals for compensation within three months. However, the ECHR retains the right to award compensation.

The applicants demanded a total of 10 million 263 thousand manat and 202 thousand 500 euros in compensation for material and moral damages, as well as reimbursement of expenses.

The applicants were represented at the ECHR by lawyers Intigam Aliyev and Samira Agaeva.
