Baku / 11.02.19 / Turan: A border intruder who tried to illegally come to Azerbaijan was killed on the border with Iran. According to the State Border Service (SBS), on February 11, at 00:10, a man was seen traveling from Iran to Azerbaijan in the territory of the Goitepe border detachment near the village of Buravar in the Yardimly region.
The intruder was ordered to stop, and warning fire was opened. However, the intruder did not obey and tried to flee towards Iran. Border guards used weapons. As a result, the intruder was killed.
During the inspection of the body, a civil passport was found in the name of the Azerbaijani citizen Zulfugar Huseyn Oglu Seyfullayev, born in 1968, as well as a night vision device.
Currently, SBS officers and the Military Prosecutor's Office are taking the necessary operational-investigative measures, the SPS report says. -0-

On January 29, municipal elections were held in Azerbaijan, with over 16,000 candidates participating across 118 constituencies.
