Istanbul / 09.10.18 / Turan: The Istanbul police continue questioning Nadir Salifov, known in the criminal world under the nickname Lotu Guli, who was detained by the Turkish police the day before.
According to information from sources in the Istanbul police, upon completion of all necessary procedures, Salifov will be extradited to Azerbaijan.
In the reports of the police and the Turkish media, Salifov appears as the leader of the Azerbaijani mafia, but he is not informed of any charges against him.
According to the agency Haberturk, which refers to sources in the police, Salifov was involved in the murder of his rival, the well-known criminal authority Rovshan Lankaransky, in Istanbul in 2016.
It is noteworthy that a year ago, Nadir Salifov, convicted for serious crimes, was unexpectedly released on parole from prison in Baku and quietly left for Turkey. No explanation was given why the authorities showed such mercy. At the same time, according to Russian sources, Salifov continued to lead militant racket groups that control most of Moscow"s markets and extorted money from numerous entrepreneurs in Russia.
The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry has not yet commented on the fact of the detention of Salifov and his possible extradition to Azerbaijan. -02D-
