National Council of Democratic Forces Appoints Rally on September 23
Baku / 15.09.17 / Turan: The National Council of Democratic Forces (NCDF) of Azerbaijan has appointed a rally on September 23. This was stated by the member of the NCDF coordinating center, the leader of the Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan (PFPA) Ali Kerimli on the air via Facebook.
The action is supposed to be held at the Mehsul stadium in Baku on September 23 from 15.00 to 17.00. A corresponding notification has been sent to the Executive Power of Baku.
As Kerimli said, the action is held in connection with the Laundromat scandal. It is about the identification by the international journalistic investigation network OCCRP of the fact that $ 2.9 billion was withdrawn from Azerbaijan in 2012-2014 for money laundering and payment of lobbying activities.
According to Kerimli, NCDF requires the Prosecutor General's Office to start a criminal case in connection with the funds obtained through corruption and withdrawn from the country.
In connection with this scandal, criminal cases have been filed in 8 countries, whose citizens were involved in the use of money from the "black cash office," but no investigation is conducted in Azerbaijan.
"The European Parliament also adopted a resolution on the investigation of these corruption facts," he added.
Kerimli also pointed to the lack of response by the authorities to initiatives in the US to apply sanctions against Azerbaijani officials involved in human rights violations.
At the NCDF rally, demands will be put forward for the return of money withdrawn from the country by illicit means, and the punishment of those responsible.
Note that the representatives of official Baku rejected the allegations put forward in the OCCRP investigation and called it another provocation of forces hostile to Azerbaijan. -03D06--
