Special Operation in Imishli and Arrests of Officers in Six Regions
Baku / 05.05.20 / Turan: On May 5, the State Security Service launched an operation in the Imishli region. According to a source in the prosecutor’s office, the State Security Service officers entered the building of the executive branch, blocking entrances and exits.
At the same time, police outfits are displayed at the approaches to the building.
According to unofficial data, the district leadership was detained.
At the same time, the press service of the prosecutor general’s office announced the arrest of several representatives of the executive branch in the Lankaran, Yevlakh, Saatli, Salyan, Dashkesan and Hajigabul regions.
Detained persons are accused of misappropriation of humanitarian aid allocated by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the poor and issuing fictitious certificates during the quarantine period.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against detainees for abuse and forgery. -02D-

Journalist Nargiz Abaslamova, held in Baku's Detention Center No. 1, was subjected to violence by a guard. While passing by the cell of her colleague Sevinj Vagifgizi, Abaslamova tried to greet her, reported on Abzas Media's Facebook page. However, guard Aygul Babaeva forcibly dragged Abaslamova away and deeply scratched the journalist's arm. Abaslamova stated that this is not the first time the mentioned guard has used force and been rude to journalists. A few days ago, Babaeva also used force against Sevinj Vagifgizi.

They also requested that the Strasbourg court recognize violations of their rights to a fair trial, respect for private life, effective legal remedies, the right to submit an individual complaint, and other related rights.
