The victim refused to appeal against the adviser to the PPFA head
Today the Narimanov District Court of Baku began hearing the lawsuit against Mamed Ibrahim, the adviser to the chairman of the Popular Front Party, accused of hooliganism.
First the indictment was read. Then the victim Mikail Guliyev, who claimed that on 29 November near the metro station "Nariman Narimanov" Ibrahim "insulted him and then struck."
However, the defense drew attention to the contradictions in the testimony of Guliyev and those he gave during the investigation. In particular, he was among the number of witnesses, as well as important details of the conflict. Protection revealed some shortcoming in the forensic materials.
So, there is no evidence in the documents that "ambulance" helped Guliyev. Responding to these comments Guliyev behaved provocatively and insulted a lawyer and the defendant. The judge Turgay Huseynov was very tolerant to this. However, after the break Guliyev unexpectedly abandoned claims against Ibrahim, and wrote a statement to the court. The next meeting is scheduled for January 11.
The reason for the arrest of Ibrahim became the complaint of the former party member Mikail Guliyev, who left the organization, together with the ex-deputy head of APFP Razi Nurullayev. On 29 September there was a conflict between them. The PPFA believes that against Ibrahim was committed a provocation in order to discredit the party. Initially, Ibrahim was charged under Article 221.1 (hooliganism) of the Criminal Code that provides for up to one year imprisonment. Later, the investigation retroactively caught two "victims" and reclassified the charges to Article 221.2.2, for which he can be imprisoned for up to five years. -06B-
