Armenian Government Approves Bill on Recognition of Karabakh
Yerevan / 05.05.16 / Turan-ArmInfo: The Armenian government approved the bill "On the recognition of the Artsakh Republic" submitted by MPs Zaruhi Postanjyan and Hrant Bagratyan, and sent it for approval to the Parliament on May 5.
As noted in the justification of the draft law, the need for its adoption was due to the results of discussions on this subject between representatives of Armenia and Karabakh. The opinion on the draft was presented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Edward Nalbandian.
Note that Zaruhi Postanjyan had already twice presented a similar document, which, however, was rejected by the Armenian parliament because of the position of the ruling majority, which considers that in the case of recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh by Yerevan the peace talks to resolve the problem will stop.
Recall that the leadership of Armenia stated earlier that Yerevan will recognize Karabakh in the event of a large-scale war. -02D-
