Baku accused Armenia of intensifying shelling of Kalbajar
Baku/06.09.22/Turan: Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry accused Armenia of intensifying shelling in recent days on the border, thus blaming Yerevan for the tensions.
"Azerbaijani army positions have been subjected to intensive shelling by Armenian armed forces on the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border in recent days," the Defense Ministry said in a statement Tuesday morning.
At the same time, it is reported that in the evening of September 5, Armenian armed forces units once again fired from various types of firearms at the positions of Azerbaijani armed forces in the direction of Zivel and Yellija villages of the Kalbajar region.
"Azerbaijani units have taken adequate measures in all directions. The entire responsibility for tensions on the Azerbaijani-Armenian state border lies on the military and political leadership of Armenia," the press release of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry concluded.
The Armenian Defense Ministry has not released any statement on the situation. -06D-
