Baku/14.03.22/Turan: On Monday, the official representative of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Leyla Abdullayeva, named five principles for normalizing relations with Armenia.

Commenting on Armenia's appeal to the OSCE Minsk Group about readiness for peace talks with Baku, she noted that Azerbaijan had already proposed this. However, as Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stressed in his speech in Antalya, Armenia did not react to this.

Then Azerbaijan's proposal on the basic principles of establishing relations was transmitted to Armenia through intermediaries a few days ago. It reflects the following five core principles:

- mutual recognition of sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability of state borders and political independence of each other;

- mutual confirmation of the absence of territorial claims to each other and a legal obligation not to make such claims in the future;

- refrain from threats to security, from the use of threats and force against the political independence and territorial integrity of each other, as well as from other actions incompatible with the UN Charter;

- delimitation and demarcation of the state border, establishment of diplomatic relations;

- opening of transport and other communications, cooperation in other areas of mutual interest.

"The two countries can conclude a bilateral peace agreement on these basic principles, through intensive, substantive and result-oriented negotiations," Abdullayeva concluded.—06B-
