Large Group of Servicemen Awarded Medal "For Fatherland"
Baku / 16.12.10 / Turan: Head of State Ilham Aliyev issued an order on awarding about a thousand servicemen of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces with the medal "For the Fatherland".
The text of the order says this award was awarded to servicemen who participated in military operations to ensure the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan and who honorably fulfilled their official duty in the performance of tasks.
Among those awarded are generals, officers, warrant officers, sergeants and privates. About 40% of the military were awarded posthumously. -02D-
