On November 7 , 2020 , Shusha was liberated
Baku/07.11.22 /Turan: The first days of November 2020 marked the culmination of the Second Karabakh War: they ended with the liberation of the cultural center of Azerbaijan – the city of Shusha.
Starting from November 3, the advanced special forces units of the Azerbaijani armed forces began to infiltrate the outskirts of the city and commit sabotage inside it.
On November 5, the village of Dashalty near Shusha was cleared, and on November 6, an assault on the city began early in the morning, in which about 300 special forces and a number of units of other branches of the armed forces participated.
Most of the Armenian military fled the city in the previous days, and its significant part was destroyed.
On November 6, street battles ended with the liberation of the city; however, the Armenian side launched several attacks to recapture Shusha.
The Armenian attacks on November 6-7 were the fiercest, during which the enemy suffered huge losses. During 4-5 days in Shusha, the enemy lost at least 700 people killed.
In particular, two special forces units of the Armenian armed forces (022nd and 178th) were destroyed.
On November 7, in the afternoon, the military command reported to the leadership about the liberation of the city, and on November 8, in the morning, an official announcement was made that Shusha had been liberated after 28 years!

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
