Demographic collapse: exodus of the Armenian population and why?

Four years have passed since the 44-day war, which ended Armenia’s occupation of Azerbaijani territories, fundamentally altering the balance of power and reshaping the geopolitical landscape of the South Caucasus. While negotiations are ongoing, a comprehensive peace agreement remains elusive.

The EU's High Representative Josep Borrell and the European Commission issued a joint statement regarding the recent parliamentary elections in Georgia. The meeting between the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, Jeyhun Bayramov and Ararat Mirzoyan, held in Istanbul on October 18, 2024, marked another step in ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the conflict between the two countries. Starting January 1, 2025, Russian border guards will cease their service at the Armenia and Iran border crossing points. Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan agreed on this during a meeting in Moscow.
