Azerbaijani film director receives award of Armenian Film Festival

Young Azerbaijani film director Elmar Imanov residing in Germany has received a special award of the "Golden Apricot" Film Festival in Armenia. Armenian media did not mention name of the prize and the film director himself has not been invited to visit Yerevan.

30-minutes-long film is about difficult relationships between a father and a mentally ill son. The film was shot in Cangi, 55 km away from Baku, in 2011.

The film has been earlier awarded a bronze medal of the US Movie Academy of Young Cinematographers (Student OSCAR) as the best foreign film.

Several years ago 30-year-old Ilmar Imanov moved to Cologne, Germany, where he graduated from the International School of Cinematography. He has already shot several short and documentary films.-0-
