Chingiz Huseynov"s Novel Published in Turkey
The Istanbul publishing house Roman Kahramanlar? (Heroes of Novels), issued a book by Chingiz Huseynov, Magomed, Mamed, Mamish (translated by Prof. Karaca from Ankara University).
The novel came to Turkey more than thirty years after it was first published in many countries (USA, France, Germany, etc.).
As the author said in an interview with Turkish television, there are reasons for that: left-wing publishers, focused on the Soviet Union, ignoring the book for its negative showing of the socialist Azerbaijan, and right-wing ones did not want to deal with a Soviet writer.
Presentation of the book coincided with the 13th International Conference on modern literature, where Huseynov made a report on the problems of Russian and Azerbaijani literature, and spoke about the meetings with Nazim Hikmet. He also met with teachers and students of the philological faculty of the University of Ankara. -0 -
