Embassies of France and Germany announce gender equality prize winner in Azerbaijan
On July 9, the 2024 Germany-France Gender Equality Award for contributions to gender equality was presented at the residence of the German Embassy in Azerbaijan.
This Prize aims to reward an Azerbaijani initiative that contributes to gender equality in Azerbaijan.
Germany and France actively seek to promote equal rights and equal opportunities for girls and women in Azerbaijan.
The presentation was attended by the Ambassador of France to Azerbaijan, Mrs. Anne Bouillon, and her colleague, Ambassador Ralph Horlemann.
Five candidates presented their impressive projects and initiatives that promote greater equality and equal opportunities
Ambassador Ralf Horlemann and his French colleague, Ambassador Anne Boillon, personally presented the awards and emphasized how important and valuable the commitment to gender equality is.
Finally among the five participants, German Ambassador Ralf Horlemann and French Ambassador Anne Boillon announced the winner of the competition for achievements in the field of gender equality.
The winner of the award were Creation of a women's cycling school in Sheki (Adila MAMMADOVA, " Women Cycling School ");
Women opening a bakery in a village school in southern Azerbaijan (Zuleykha MUSTAFAYEVA, “ Yonca ”);
The following projects were also noted: Implementation of an awareness campaign for boys and men (Saadat AGHAEVA, “ HeForShe ”);
Promoting opportunities for women in rural areas (Kubra SALMANOVA, “ Ladies Leaf ”);
Production of an animated film about a female airplane pilot (Mehriban ALIYEVA, “ Daughter of the Sky ”).

In a long-awaited moment for Azerbaijani cinema, local directors unveiled their latest works, bringing a mix of animation, drama, and childhood reveries to the silver screen.
