Ministry of Culture Confirms Serious Violations in Carpet Museum
Information about the facts of serious violations in the Carpet Museum has has been checked and confirmed, the Ministry of Culture said.
The Ministry of Culture ordered on 27 November that for shortcomings, creating conditions violating the museum’s normal operation and violations of labor discipline the museum’s director Roya Taghiyeva should be strictly reprimanded with a final warning.
The chief accountant of the museum Gulnaz Rustamova was fired for irresponsibility and violations of financial documentation.
It is noteworthy that information about the decision of November 27 was reported by the Ministry of Culture only after 10 days.
Recall that the Deputy Director of the museum Asya Shiraliyeva accused the museum’s Director of abuse of power, the presence of dozens of “dead souls’, theft of carpets, etc. If these facts are confirmed, the decision of the Minister Abulfaz Garayev, which ordered such a lenient punishment of Taghiyeva, is unclear.
It seems there really were gross violations and theft for a long time. What else should be done to lose one’s post as Director? -02D-

The pursuit of understanding Azerbaijan’s history is an ongoing journey, increasingly woven into modern literature, culture, and national pride. A recent contribution to this endeavor is Yusif Aghayev’s new book, “The Art of War in the 11th-13th Centuries in the Works of Great Azerbaijani Poet Nizami Ganjavi,” presented at the National Museum of the History of Azerbaijan. This event marked a dual triumph in Azerbaijan’s cultural and academic circles, linking medieval military history with the famous works of Nizami Ganjavi, a poet whose legacy has long enriched the nation’s identity.
